To get admission to a course there are entrance exams. JEE Mains, JEE Advance, BITSAT, KCET, SRMJEEE, and other state CET exams such as MHCET.

The syllabus for most of these courses is more or less the same. Most of these exams are given by lakhs of students so the competition is quite tough but there are a lot of engineering colleges in the country so getting into an engineering college is not tough but getting into a good engineering college is tough.  JEE (Joint Entrance Exam) Mains is conducted by NTA (National Testing Agency) since the year 2019. JEE Mains exam applies for admission to NITs (National Institue of Technology), IIITs (Indian Institute of Information and Technology), and CFTIs (Centrally Funded Technical Institutions).
JEE Mains is conducted multiple times a year, it is usually conducted 4 times. In the year, 2021 it was conducted in the months of February, March, April, May. Students will not have to waste an entire academic year in case they miss their exam or are unable to score good marks on their first attempt. The best score from the four exams will be considered in the merit list.
 JEE (Joint Entrance Exam) Advance in the year 2021 conducted by IIT Kharagpur. JEE Advance applies for admission in the IITs (Indian Institutes of Technology). Currently, there are 23 IITs in India and after clearing JEE Advance and being listed in the Merit List the candidate can pursue courses from an IIT.

BITSAT is conducted by the Birla Institute of Technology & Science. It is a leading institute that provides quality higher education in the field of Engineering and Technology. It is an online computer-based test for admission in the Birla Institute of Technology & Science campuses in Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad.

SRMJEEE is conducted by the SRM Institute of Technology and Science. It is a private college. These exams apply to the SRM College or Universities located in Chennai, Kattankulathur, Vadapalani, Ramapuram and NCR. Eligibility Criteria -

The eligibility for pursuing a course differs from exam to exam for different colleges. As the admission is based on cut-off marks and the cut-off marks are based on merits. Scoring marks in the class 12th exams is a part of the eligibility criteria for some exams the score in class 12th board exams is more than 50% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) and in some exams, the course is 50% in class 12th overall. Some private college entrance exams don’t even have eligibility criteria for class 12th exams.  For some exams, the candidate should score a minimum of 75% marks in class 12th board exams.

The admission process of is smooth as it is divided into steps. The first step is the announcement of the results. Then there are CAP rounds. There are 3-4 CAP rounds. To take part in CAP rounds the candidate must fill the application form. While filling the application form the candidate must upload all the relevant documents required to participate in the CAP rounds. Then after this, the candidate must list the universities/colleges and branches he is interested in specialization, and then according to the merit the college or university is allowed to the candidate. 

After this, the candidate has to verify all the documents he/she submitted while filing the application form. For the purpose of verification, some centers are allotted or one has to visit the university/college one is seeking his/her admission in. It varies from University to University and College to College. During this process, the candidate must resolve all the doubts regarding the CAP rounds. The rules and regulations for participating in subsequent CAP rounds vary as in some Universities the candidate must pay a booking amount for securing his seat. Otherwise, the seat will not be booked at it can be allotted to some other candidate in the coming rounds.

After confirming the seat the candidate should visit the college and submit all the documents and affidavits required for the purpose of admission. After successful completion of this process. The candidate is required to fill the admission form and submit the Anti-Ragging affidavit. These processes may vary from university to university and college to college but the process of admission is more or less the same. The candidate must ask all the questions related to the process of admission to the concerned authority so that the process is completed smoothly without any hassels.

Difference between B.E and -

The full form of B.E is Bachelors in Engineering and the full form of is Bachelors in Technology. There is no such major difference between these two degrees. As to enroll for either of these courses one should have given the same entrance exams. The difference as considered by many experts is quite small and not significant. Both B.E and are undergraduate degree programs.
